Sustainability has become the new buzz word of the current time. If most agree that we need to take action on climate change, biodiversity loss, growing inequalities and resource waste, it is much less obvious how to concretely take steps towards the transition to a more sustainable way of life at the individual and organizational levels. ‘Greenwashing’ suspicions are growing.

In the wealth of possible solutions for action, standards, labels and certifications appear as instruments of choice.

Whereas the goal of each label is to provide for a reliable mark highlighting the achievement of a number of sustainability goals, the contrary situation usually happens. Due to the big diversity, people and organizations do not know which ones to trust. This is why specific tools are needed with which one can analyze them and select one or several ones that best covers one’s needs and are in line with one’s values, interests and/or goals. The Label Yard is here to offer this service.

The Label Yard is the creation of a sole entrepreneur. It was founded at the beginning of 2021 in the interest of the common good and out of the perceived need for more transparency in the label and certification area.

As such, this project bears the potential to support any of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
